February 6, 2010 Print Exchange: Twelve printers and one paper-maker participated in the exchange, whose theme was "Love." The Guild gave 20 sets to the Museum to be sold in the gift shop.  On the right: prints by Armando Rodriguez and Gordon Rouze; paper by Kathy Gurwell.

February 6, 2010 meeting:  Guild member Suzanne Powney explained and demonstrated screen-printing.  Every member got to print and take home a poster designed by Suzanne, illustrating the Museum's Curtis & Mitchell Columbian press.  We also had our Print Exchange!

January 9, 2010 meeting: Printmaker & Guild member David Webb demonstrated his technique of making botanical prints from dried grasses and other plants. David’s work was exhibited at the Museum in 2008 (see here).  

December 12, 2009 meeting: Renowned Vandercook expert and printer Paul Moxon led a demonstration of the Museum of Printing History's new Vandercook Rocker press.  Guild members took turns printing an ampersand from the Museum's collection of wood type.

June 6, 2009 meeting: we printed the Guild's contribution to the Vandercook 100 print exchange.  At left, printers Dan Williams, Gordon Rouze and Mort Fefer run off a print on the Museum of Printing History's Vandercook press.  At right, Mort inks part of the two-color form. 

May 2, 2009 meeting:  In a comprehensive explanation and demonstration, Armando Rodriguez showed us the techniques of paper marbling, providing instruction on tools and materials, and guiding us through the creation of many breathtaking designs.

April 4, 2009 meeting:  Casey McGarr of Inky Lips Press in Dallas, Texas, spoke to our enthusiastic group about how his graphic design career led him to letterpress printing.  Casey generously gave a signed letterpress-printed poster to everyone in attendance!

March 7, 2009 meeting:  Museum of Printing History Artist-in-Residence Charles Criner demonstrated screen printing for Guild members.  Everyone got to take home a screen-printed T-shirt with one of two Printers Guild logos (pictured).  Three new members joined!

January 3, 2009 Guild Meeting:  We met at the home printshop of Guild member Joe DeVries, who demonstrated the gold foil stamping technique that he used for his contribution to the 2009 Guild calendar.

March 1, 2008 meeting:  At this working meeting in the letterpress shop at the Museum of Printing History, Guild members printed book- marks and other items to donate to the Museum for sale in the Gift Shop.  In the photo at right, a guest prints letterpress for the first time.

January 5, 2008 meeting:  James Nelson of Charter Graphics welcomed Guild members to his shop, where he is one of the few printers in Houston still using an Intertype in his business.  He demonstrated the Intertype and  provided a "tour" of his other equipment.
