July 2010 Our July meeting will be at the Museum of Printing History Saturday, July 10, at 10 a.m. This is a change from our usual first Saturday due to the 4th of July holiday. Former Guild president and member Kent Kessinger will be presenting a program on wood engraving which will include a brief historical background, explanation of tools, demo, and hands-on engraving for meeting participants. Kent has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Missouri, an MA in Speech from San Francisco State University, and a Ph.D in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley. He is the proprietor of River Birch Press, a private press, in College Station and has exhibited at numerous universities and galleries. Reminder: We are planning to assemble the 2011 calendar at the October meeting. |
