               Guild Announcements:

January 2010

Our Februrary meeting will be on February 6, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at the Museum.  We are in for a real treat as Guild Treasurer Suzanne Powney and Museum Artist-in-Residence Charles Criner present a silk-screening demo. We will be able to pull prints of a poster with a two-color illustration of the Museum's Columbian press. Members will be able to take home one poster each, and the extras will be donated to the Museum gift shop where they will be available for purchase by non-members.

Print Exchange:  The Guild's 2009 Print Exchange has been moved to the February 6, 2010 meeting.  Information is here.  Remember, even if you didn't sign up, you can still be in the Exchange if you have 35 prints at the meeting.  You don't have to be at the meeting, but your prints do!

2010 dues still just $15! Renew or join now to help support the Museum through the Guild's events and projects.

This month's calendar page is by Ping Lau.  Ping used wood type (Antique Tuscan Condensed), metal type (Liberty), and a magnesium plates for the images and text.  It can be found in the Guild's collaborative 2010 Calendar, which unfortunately has sold out!  Keep an eye out for the 2011 calendar, coming out later this year.  Each month of the calendar is printed by a different Guild member, using the techniques and paper of his or her choice.  Once printed, all of the calendar pages are assembled and placed in CD jewel cases for display.  This is the second annual Guild calendar.  To see the calendar pages for all of 2010, click here.  To see the calendar pages for all of 2009, click here.
